Testimonials at Meadowcroft Residential Care Home

“The food is just lovely, the level of service is excellent. All staff are wonderful, and I appreciate everything they do for me.”

“My mother has been in this care home for the last 2 years as she suffers from dementia. The manager Pam and her staff care for my mum as if she was their own mother. She has made many friends and is very happy. The environment is happy and carefree. She can have time with friends or time on her own in her own room, scattered with possessions. All I can say is that this is a home to be proud of. Well done Pam.”

“A very loving and caring environment. The staff work very hard to provide many varied activities for the residents. As a visitor you are always made to feel welcome.”

“From the moment we first viewed Meadowcroft we knew it was a lovely place. It felt homely, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. All areas were spotlessly clean and fresh, the lounge a cheery place to be, and the dining room wonderful and bright. It was evident though photographs and craft work in the hall way of the frequent activities that take place for the residents. The care that my Nan received was impeccable. Pam and her team could not do enough to help my Nan or us relatives. Thank you to everyone at Meadowcroft. Cannot recommend highly enough.”

“A warm, (both temperature and atmosphere!) caring environment, where all the staff are friendly, cheerful, constantly mindful of each resident's well being and always ready to help/answer queries. A varied programme of activities is offered, both inside and outside of the home. We cannot praise all the staff enough for how they have made our mother happy and comfortable: the move into the home was such a smooth transition with a minimum of upset to our mother. Thank you seems such an inadequate phrase for how we feel, but thank you - we are so grateful for everything you have done and continue to do.”

“The staff are very friendly to visitors and residents alike. They do many varied activities with the residents and you feel that they are genuinely concerned for their wellbeing. The fact that mum is always hugging the staff is the best testament to that fact.”

“My reasons for recommendation are:- The home is 'safe', friendly and forthcoming with queries. The home provides a family atmosphere yet professionalism with residents and family are second to none. Clean, a good varied menu, entertainment in and out of doors. Most of all caring environment, pleasant very helpful staff.”

“Fantastic, manager polite and professional. Every issue, no matter how small is always dealt with immediately. Staff are very approachable, helpful and friendly, always smiling. There is always a full social activity calendar. We could not ask for kinder treatment.”

“My mom has been at Meadowcroft for 5 years. She's 98 now she's nothing like she was when she first moved as her Alzheimers is in the latter stages now. The staff love my mom as if she was their own, even though she's challenging at times. They call me wherever there's something I need to know, unlike the care home my mother-in-law lives in. Wouldn't want my mom anywhere else.”

“My mom spent the last 12 years in Meadowcroft care home, I cannot praise this home enough. My mom was looked after by some of the most wonderful carers; they were the reason I slept easy at night. Mom's room was comfortable and cosy and always clean. Food was good and staff very friendly and accommodating. The management went above and beyond, staff that really do care!!! I've been there day and night, I've been kept updated on Mom's health; even times where management returned to the home after working hours to check on my mom so my brother and I could get peace before sleep. I would recommend this home highly, 12yrs is a long time to observe the home and its staff. Not once did we or my mom have had reason to complain. Thank you will never be enough.”

“My mother has been a resident at Meadowcroft for over 9 years now. Throughout she has been cared for with the utmost respect, love and compassion with her dignity preserved at all times. All the staff are marvellous with her, and I can rest easier knowing that she is safe and loved. In these unprecedented times, there has been regular contact by telephone to discuss Mum’s welfare and although I have not been able to visit in person I am confident that everyone is doing their utmost to provide a safe and caring environment for Mum and her fellow residents. Well done Meadowcroft, you are amazing.”

“Meadowcroft is amazing, my mum has been here for over 9 years. Her every need is met. The staff are incredible, and the manager treats every resident with such love and compassion. The meals are freshly cooked, nutritious and tailored for the residents, similar to a 5-star hotel. In these very uncertain times with COVID-19, my family are deeply comforted by the stringent care and attention that is in place. We may not be able to visit at this time, but that is best for our mum and the other residents. These are our loved ones and we know they are in the best hands possible. Thank you, Meadowcroft, you are truly wonderful.”

“My mom has called Meadowcroft her home for a number of years now and the staff always treat her with respect and dignity. The leadership is excellent and every member of staff always gives 100% of their time and attention. The home has adapted to the changing needs of its residents to ensure everyone can continue to feel involved as best as they can. I know as mom's dementia progresses she continues to be in safe and caring hands. Thank you to all the staff for giving us this peace of mind.”

“The care for my mother was outstanding, very professional and compassionate. The staff are superb, well led and very approachable. I have the greatest respect for the job they do.”

“The staff of Meadowcroft do a fantastic job. I've got nothing but praise for them all and all the good work they do. They have my respect. Please carry on your good work.”

“Every time we visit we are greeted with a smile, they know who we are and are always helpful. Nothing seems too much trouble and despite difficult residents, they always have smiling faces. Rooms are clean and tidy, beds are always made up and its reassuring to know she's well looked after.”

“Could not praise the home and staff highly enough. All staff are caring, professional, knowledgeable and kind. Meals are balanced and nutritious, lots of variety too. Every need of the service users is met. Excellent facilities and accommodation. Would have no hesitation in recommending Meadowcroft as they are amazing. Staff inform service users family of any issues immediately. A good description for Meadowcroft would be “Home from Home”.”

Testimonials at Redbrick Court

“I cannot fault Redbrick Court and the care they provide to my mom. Mom has been in Redbrick now for just over two months and has settled in well. She received excellent care and attention, and we both feel she is in a safe environment. Mom is involved with activities, which she enjoys and tells me the food is delicious.”

“ I am delighted with the care my sister has at Redbrick Court. Most importantly she always says how nice it is and how lovely the staff are. She enjoys the meals and likes how the staff will sit and talk to her and share her memories. I note how the staff always know how she is and are willing to discuss her well-being and happiness. They are always very friendly, polite and professional. The security is excellent as the ongoing precautions again covid. I would definitely recommend Redbrick to others seeking care.”

“Overall, the home is very good. The staff are always friendly and courteous and have a very good rapport with the residents. Speaking on a personal level, my mum always appears very happy in their company and receives very good care. During Covid conditions, I was very pleased with the way the management and staff handled the situation and the fact that they had so few cases whilst other homes I know of had numerous cases. Well done, management and staff of Redbrick Court.”

“I am so pleased to have found Redbrick Court for my mom's new home. The care she receives is excellent, and she is very happy here. The staff are brilliant and do everything they can for both my mom and her family. The whole ambience of the home is caring for its residents. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Redbrick to anyone.”

“My mam is really settled at Redbrick Court. Each member of staff is kind and caring and demonstrates compassion with my mam. There is individualized care, which my mam needs with a dementia diagnosis. I feel happy that my mam is looked after 100%. All staff are approachable and listen to any concerns or worries I have around my mam's health. I would strongly recommend this care home.”

“My father has been a resident at this home for approximately five years, and I would not have him anywhere else. The care and support are wonderful. I call them my angels because they are. I know my father is safe and looked after. I live 25 miles from the home, but that is my choice because I choose to keep him at Redbrick. My father would not be alive today without them.”

“I live in Australia and can't leave the country because of Covid.. I haven't seen my mum in over 2 years now because of it. My sister is her main carer and she desperately needed a break. Mum went into Redbrick Court for one week respite. She was very reluctant to go but oh my... What fantastic care she received! I phoned nearly every day from Australia and the carers/nurses were so kind and obliging. Mum had a fantastic experience and said that she felt like Royalty! The food was marvellous and they looked after her so well. She has no reservations in future to go back there. It gave me such peace of mind knowing how she was cared for and not being able to visit her. Well done you wonderful people!”

“My mum has been a resident at Redbrick Court for almost 12 months. She is 88 years old and has dementia. The care my mum receives is extremely good, the staff are very compassionate and caring and it’s clear to see that they do the job because they enjoy caring for people. The food is freshly prepared every day and they are provided with endless drinks throughout the day. I am confident that my mum's needs are catered for and she is receiving the best care possible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Redbrick Court.”

“My dad went into the home in October 2019 after he was unable to cope at home any more. He suffered from dementia, and it was difficult to find a suitable placement for him. It took him a while to settle, but the staff were absolutely amazing, and soon he trusted them and they looked after him like he was their own family. All I can say is they supported him and my family up until the end, and that was not easy during the lockdown situation. We were allowed to be with him when he died, and I am so grateful for that. Thank you to all your staff.”

“During my mothers stay at Redbrick Court she received the utmost care and compassion, this also extended to the family. The staff went above and beyond their duty during the final weeks of mum's life. We were always made to feel welcome and made to feel we belonged there as a family, we could not have wished for more.”

“Our mother, aged 91 but usually independent, required respite care for two weeks following what was probably a small stroke. Only two homes were suggested to us [by local Social Services] as having vacancies for such care of which Redbrick Court was by far the better. The home was impressively clean, the room of generous size and the welcome most warm. Staff were uniformed, smart and did their utmost to relax a rather apprehensive old lady, including the provision of a piece of excellent cake on arrival quite late in the evening. Care was, as far as I could observe, efficient during her stay though there was one referral planned on admission that was not arranged [an omission of no great importance]. Moreover, the staff accommodated mother's wishes and preferences [e.g. taking meals in her room]. Overall, and I have seen plenty of homes when I was a GP, Redbrick Court and it's staff impressed. We, and mother, would be happy for her to return in future should it be necessary.”

Testimonials at Woodlands Gate Rest Home

“Lovely staff, very friendly. Make Mum very welcome and she has settled really quickly. Food standard is very high and always looks good. Cleaning staff are very thorough.”

“We have already recommended this care home to a friend, it is hard to find anything that could be improved. The staff are very caring and professional, they put the resident and guests at ease, the food is excellent and each resident is catered for their personal needs. Overall, we don't think we could have found a better care home for our mom.”

“Very impressed with all the staff, how even in a short time they have welcomed my mom into the home. It was such a hard family decision to make but Woodlands Gate management and staff have put the family at ease. Thank you.”

“I have always found the staff at Woodlands Gate Rest Home to be of a caring, considerate and sympathetic nature. They have always come across as individuals who have a vocation, rather than just a job and are genuinely interested in the well-being of the residents, ultimately, irrespective of anything else, this is what really matters.”

“My father was moved to Woodlands Gate straight from hospital. As we knew nothing about the care home we obviously had some concerns but as things have turned out, we had no reason to. My father has dementia and was recovering from pneumonia and the care he has received has been first-class and in the time he has been in the care home the level of recovery he has made is incredible. He has a really nice room with an ensuite and a lovely view overlooking the garden. The staff are excellent and are professional and caring and have been so kind and patient with my father. He is always clean and smart whenever I see him and he is very happy. If ever I have any queries the staff always have time to talk to me and I have learnt so much from them in how best to deal with my father's dementia. My father always enjoys the meals which are varied and well thought out. My father thinks he is in a 5-star hotel and I can see why. The care home has been excellent and I would highly recommend it.”

“My father was sent to Woodlands Gate from the hospital to recover/regain his strength, the care is excellent and the staff really lovely, they really do care about their residents. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Woodlands Gate to anyone looking for a care / residential home.”

“Woodlands Gate offers exceptional care. The staff make a real effort to provide a sensitive and compassionate environment. Communication is first class, both to residents and family members. The rest home is light, bright, spacious and very clean. Residents are consulted and treated with great respect. Overall a first class service.”

“Mom has dementia and has been a resident at Woodlands Gate for a few years. I find the home to be very well managed and always clean with no unpleasant smell. Mom is looked after very well here, which is a great comfort to myself and siblings. She is always clean and well dressed. From what I have seen, the meals are very good. I like the fact that each resident is treated as an individual and in a way that meets their needs. The staff are very good and always find time to discuss any concerns we may have.”

“My father was in the care of Woodlands Gate for two years and three months. He was happy there for the duration of his stay and at no time did he ever express a desire to leave the home. I always found his room to be clean and tidy and the home itself to be very clean with no odour. This I always thought was very impressive, particularly as I lived over 200 miles from the home and at no time did I give advance notice of my visits. I have nothing but praise for the staff who I always found to be helpful and caring. I have no hesitation in recommending Woodlands Gate for any families who have to make the difficult decision of choosing a care home for their loved ones.”

“The care which is provided is excellent. My very close friend came here 9 weeks ago. The staff show empathy to the residents and care. The food selection is good. The staff have always been kind and friendly towards me and my dog when we visit. Very understanding and very helpful and for this, I am extremely grateful and so is my family because it has been really hard for us at times.”

“My mother went to live at Woodlands Gate 14 months ago when her dementia meant she could no longer live at home. She has been treated with nothing but kindness throughout her stay, and this has helped make the transition so much easier. We are always made to feel welcome and can leave her knowing she is well cared for.”

“I have my mom (been here 18 months) and aunt who has been here 8 and a half years. The care which is provided is excellent. The carers go above and more when it comes to care. They concentrate on keeping residents mobile and work wonders to those who come out of hospital. They do not think it is just a job. They care and show empathy to the residents. The food is fresh and excellent and the selection is very good.”

“Staff treat me very well. They are all good, very helpful, kind.”

“Excellent caring staff. Homely environment, very welcoming and clean. Good variety of home cooked food. I have no hesitation in recommending this care home.”

“Woodlands Gate is a very well run home. Staff and management are both very professional but at the same time extremely caring. Mom has Alzheimer’s and has to have a lot of help to wash, dress, eat drink etc. She is very comfortable and contented and eats very well, all due to the patience of the staff. The home itself is very clean and is always fresh, airy. In fact it is like a hotel. Also there is lots of activities and social events.”

“A very caring and clean home. The staff are very patient and look after the residents with much care and consideration. The parties that are put on are fantastic and the buffets very good. Entertainment is also available for the residents. I highly recommend it.”
